New Traffic Plan beginning the 7th of November!

Beginning on the 7th of November where students go to get on their buses and where parents pick-up their children will change.  For details, click on this link, FPW Traffic Plan.

The following students were accepted into Citywide Choir on November 18th and 19th.  This is a district-wide honor choir that includes the top singers from Denver Public Schools.  This is a prestigious award for these students, and Florida Pitt Waller should be very proud to have such a large number of students attending.

Florida Pitt Waller’s library will be open every Monday until 4:00 p.m. Students can check out books and do internet research for a school project.  Parents should be aware that their student(s) are staying to use the library, and arrangements should be made beforehand on transportation home.

On Wednesdays, the upstairs computer lab, next to the library, will be open after school until 4:30 p.m. for students and parents.  Students may use the computers for homework, school projects, Raz Kids, AR quizzes, and Everyday Math games.

The banners are part of a district wide program “Learning Landscapes” in which design students from UCD worked with school staff to create a learning/playing area at every DPS school.  A part of the learning landscape includes banners developed by students and art teachers at the schools.

During the Fall of 2010, our art teacher, Karen Chapman, worked with 6th grade students.  They started by brainstorming a list of what was special about Florida Pitt Waller

Student designs reflect the importance of our diverse population, our sense of community with hands reaching out to help and share, the love of learning in all content areas and the beauty of Colorado eastern plains where sunflowers, mountains and luminous skies are the backdrop for Florida Pitt Waller’s community.
