Watch Florida Pitt Waller’s Harlem Shake!
The school recently conducted a school-wide Cultural Enrichment Activity performing the recent dance craze “The Harlem Shake.” Besides being one of the largest gatherings of such an activity in Colorado history, it has provided some much needed celebration of our school and its commitment to enriching our community.

Our school offers adult English classes. Summer Scholars Family Literacy Program classes are held on T, W & TH from 6:00p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in classroom A101. Students can begin anytime or wait for the next session starting on April 2nd and going through May 16th. The applications are available at the main office and the cost is $10.00 to cover the registration fee.

Photographs from Florida Pitt Waller’s 2nd annual Multi-Cultural Day celebration held on February 27, 2013. This day was dedicated to the memory of Selena Shinault who organized our first celebration.
Our Drama Club performed at the DPS Annual Shakespeare Festival on May 11th.
The banners are part of a district wide program “Learning Landscapes” in which design students from UCD worked with school staff to create a learning/playing area at every DPS school. A part of the learning landscape includes banners developed by students and art teachers at the schools.
During the Fall of 2010, our art teacher, Karen Chapman, worked with 6th grade students. They started by brainstorming a list of what was special about Florida Pitt Waller
Student designs reflect the importance of our diverse population, our sense of community with hands reaching out to help and share, the love of learning in all content areas and the beauty of Colorado eastern plains where sunflowers, mountains and luminous skies are the backdrop for Florida Pitt Waller’s community.
