Principal’s Message

Principal Polly Beck

Dear Florida Pitt Waller ECE-8 School Community,

I am incredibly excited to join Florida Pitt Waller as your principal. Having spent the majority of my 27-year career in education serving Denver Public Schools, I already feel at home as a FPW Bison.

Looking back at last year, our school community made impressive gains. Together, we:

This school year, we will build on that momentum and continue to focus on student engagement and achievement through several key initiatives:

Active Learning: Expanding Kagan Cooperative Learning strategies to deepen student understanding and build strong communication skills.
Targeted Support: Implementing a robust intervention system driven by student data to address academic, behavioral, and attendance needs early.
Differentiation: Introducing a Gifted and Talented (GT) cluster model to nurture all our learners. Stronger Connections: Deepening our family partnerships.

As a partner in your student’s education, here are some impactful ways you can support learning at home:

Prioritize Attendance: Ensure your child attends every day and arrives on time.
Spark Conversations: Ask your child what they’re learning, as well as what expectations look like in their classrooms, the hallways, and the cafeteria.
Read Daily: Set aside time for reading every night (you reading to them, or them reading independently) in any language spoken in your home.
Stay Connected: Read our school newsletters, check the website, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Reach out to our school staff anytime you have questions, concerns, or ideas.

At Florida Pitt Waller, we celebrate our rich diversity and truly embrace what it means to be “One Waller” by living out the B.I.S.O.N. Way:

Build Respectful Relationships
Insist on Integrity
Spread Compassion
Own Reflection
Nurture Equity

In partnership and gratitude,

Polly Beck
