Hi, my name is Emily Dirks and I moved to Denver in 2006. After growing up in a small town in Ohio, I moved to Michigan for my college education. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education with a focus on Language Arts and Science from Eastern Michigan University. This is my 19th year of teaching, and I have been teaching at Florida Pitt Waller since 2007. I feel blessed to have a career that I truly enjoy and love. I am a mother of two children Maddy and Evan, who are both graduates of DPS. My husband Todd is often with me supporting athletics after school. Lastly, I have two dogs Toby and January, one cat Charles, and Franklin the turtle, who is loved by all Florida Pitt Waller students.

I enjoy reading, sports, and especially biking and hiking. I love being outdoors!
