My name is Amparo Salazar and I have been in the teaching profession for more than 15 years. I have serviced second language children throughout my educational career.

My home and country of origin is Spanish and I was born in Michoacan, Mexico. I moved to Los Angeles, California in 1988 when I got married, I have been married for 27 years and have two college graduated children. I moved to Colorado in 1994 from California. In 1997, I started to work as Paraprofessional in ACSD 14. Three years later, I started to work with students from 1st to 5th grade as a Spanish Literacy teacher for three years in Mapleton Public Schools, then as Kindergarten teacher in the same district. In 2008, I moved to Denver Public Schools as ELA E/S kindergarten teacher. This is my first year teaching ECE ELA E/S, having taught Kindergarten for many years and knowing the criteria for children to be successful, I am confident I can streamline that information and curriculum to students at preschool ages where appropriate.

In Mexico I went to Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo and received a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Engineer. In Colorado, I went to CU Denver where I got a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction in Elementary.
